Hornish joined IRL in 2000 and one year later he won his first championship for Panther Racing. He followed that up with his second championship the following season while winning five races during the season. In 2004 Hornish Jr. moved to Penske and after two mediocre seasons he won his third championship in 2006. Also that season Hornish Jr. won his first Indianapolis 500. Hornish Jr. made his NASCAR debut in the Busch Series late in the 2006 season and he also drove in a few races in the Nextel Cup Series in 2007. In 2008 he will drive the No. 77 Penske car full-time in the Sprint Cup Series. |
