Sterling Marlin was born with the bloodlines for racing, filling in for his injured father Coo Coo at the Nashville Speedway in 1976. He was the 1983 Rookie of the Year, after showing promise running in the previous few seasons. The younger Marlin finished a career-best third in the Winston Cup standings in both 1995 and 2001. Marlin will have to qualify based on speed in his first five races for the upcoming 2007 season. |
