Edwards wins at Miami, Johnson wins championship

Carl Edwards recorded his ninth win of the season in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, but Jimmie Johnson stole the show, as he finished 15th to win his third-straight Sprint Cup Championship.

Johnson finished the season with 6669 points, which gave him a 69 point lead over Edwards.

In the Ford 400 Kevin Harvick was second behind Edwards, followed by Jamie McMurray in third and Jeff Gordon in fourth. Clint Bowyer was fifth, Kasey Kahne was sixth and Travis Kvapil was seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 on Sunday were Casey Mears, Tony Stewart and Martin Truex Jr.

The final chase standings saw Johnson in first, followed by Edwards, Greg Biffle, Harvick, Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
