Stewart wins at Pocono

Tony Stewart was running on fumes, but held off Carl Edwards on the final lap Sunday to claim his first win of the season in the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway.

With the win Stewart retained the lead in the driver standings. He now leads Jeff Gordon, who was fourth on Sunday, by 71 points.

Following Stewart and Edwards cross the finish line was David Reutimann in third, Gordon in fourth, Ryan Newman in fifth and Marcos Ambrose in sixth. Jimmie Johnson finished seventh and Juan Pablo Montoya was eighth. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Jeff Burton and Sam Hornish Jr.

The Sprint Cup Series returns to the track next week at Michigan International Speedway in the LifeLock 400.
